Zach is gone but all is well

I'm now officially a war widow. Technically, Z is still in the United States (Mississippi), but we no longer have a husband and daddy at home. Lleida, Cairo and I were able to spend all last week in Boise with Zach while he began his mobilization. To make it even sweeter, Cai has progressed light years in his walking skills which pleased Zach to no end. We talk to Z about once a day to see how he's doing (okay, but bored with briefings). As for us, my heart dropped when we drove into our driveway and I realized, this is it, I am now a single mother for the next year. Have I ever mentioned that I decided against single motherhood when I had to take care of Dad and Shawn for two weeks while Mom, Candi and Trina went to pick up Brandi from Germany? Yah, well, otherwise things have been pretty good. The kids, though sick with winter woes, are fantastic. Lleida has been a fabulous helper and since both kids aren't feeling well they've been going to around 7:00 p.m. Awesome.

I want to give a special shout out to Mom. Thank you, thank you for coming to Boise to drive home with me. Thank you for watching my children so I can go to dance. Thank you for always loving and supporting me. I love you so much. Happy Birthday Mom.

  1. Jaclyn, you are one amazing woman! I admire you and Zack so much. Thank you for your sacrifice. It's not an easy thing you do, and there are many others out there like you. May Heavenly Father bless you abundantly while Zach is gone. Isn't it great to have Skype, IM, and email. We have come along way since Vietnam and other wars in being able to communicate with loved ones far away.

  2. I'm with you, I don't ever want to be single mom. I understand why marriage is for a man and a woman. We need each other to balance life and emotions, for the support.

I look forward to updates and lots of blogging if you can find the time.
I also wanted to mention that I watched your dance video on Candy's blog and I loved it. How great is it to have such a fun past time. I had no idea that you were such an awesome dancer.

  3. Can you believe it's been over 10 years since you decided you did not want to be a single mom (aka Brandi coming home). That's crazy. I went ahead and bought the swim suit! Sorry for the dropped call. My phone is lame! Love you!

  4. Jaclyn, I'm glad to have you as a sister-in-law! We love you and Zach and the kiddos. Like I said, this will be a time for you to show your colors! You have so much strength in you and I have always seen it! Thanks for understanding(and you know what I mean!)
